Chef Oz brings a wealth of culinary experience, with authentic Turkish mezze at the heart of everything we do, from Near East Kitchen's cafe and food truck bites to Woodside Catering's event and boxed catering menus.
Far from the average kebab stand, we offer a fresh, vibrant and gourmet take on Middle Eastern cuisine.
Our made-to-order catering menu also features fresh, wholesome ingredients and rich Levantine flavours, from grazing boxes to generous sharing feasts. We cater thoughtfully for all dietary needs and vegetarian, vegan and kids are well looked after.

NEAR EAST NIGHTS
Over summer, our food truck is tucked behind the café, serving up vibrant Levantine flavours outdoors. When the weather cools down, we take all the good vibes indoors into the Near East Kitchen. Same food. Same atmosphere. Just a little warmer.

Meet Chef Oz
The man behind the mezze.
From İzmir, Türkiye, to the heart of Ballarat, Chef Oz has spent a lifetime bringing people together through delicious food.
After leading kitchens across Istanbul and Melbourne, he followed his passion and launched his Woodside Food & Co food truck in 2020, building a loyal community of food lovers along the way.
While Oz can cook just about anything, his heart belongs to Turkish and Levantine cuisine. Think colourful mezze, vibrant flavours and plenty of dishes made to be shared. Every plate is crafted with care and delivered with genuine hospitality.
Whether he's serving lunch at Near East Kitchen or catering boutique events for Woodside Food & Co across Ballarat and regional Victoria, Oz brings authenticity and his own flair to every dish.
This is not your average kebab shop. It’s about honest food, shared with great friends and plenty of delicious reasons to gather around a table.
